AIDA, \u201cItalian Association of Aerophilately\u201d, was founded in 1958 by a group of airmail collectors with the aim of increasing and promoting air mail study in all its forms, sectors or specialization. By following in the footsteps of founders, the members who succeeded until today, have never missed to reach the original goals. AIDAFLASH issue 189 (March 2026), as usual, opens with an editorial by President Paolo Tondo. This is followed by the second and final part of the article, dedicated to the 1929 flights around the globe of the airship \u201cGraf Zeppelin\u201d, with in-depth analysis of the structure of the permitted postal rules and tariffs, and, inevitably, the exceptions encountered. This is followed by an interesting article on the first Italian dispatch to South America, in 1934, on the route operated by the German airline \u201cDeutsche Lufthansa\u201d. President\u2019s Letter<\/strong><\/p>

Dear Members,<\/em><\/p>

it is with immense pleasure that I announce the membership of Grazia Bordoli Longhi, wife of our beloved Fiorenzo. Mrs. Longhi \u2013 remembering the dedication and time her husband dedicated to the Association, his dedication to promoting aerophilately through our magazine Aida Flash, the annual aerophilately days, and, most recently, the website, and the way he managed to involve her in these activities \u2013 has decided to remain with AIDA and its history, thus always feeling close to her beloved husband and life partner. On behalf of the entire Board, I extend my sincere thanks to Lella, whose presence among us is a true honor. I recall that her constant presence at Fiorenzo\u2019s side was graciously confirmed in 1976, when Mrs. Longhi\u2019s smiling face was chosen by the then president, Eng. Sandro Taragni, to embellish the postcard prepared for the 1976 Aerophilately Day, which took place in Venice during the \u201cSerenissima 76\u201d conference\u2026<\/p>

The editorial series of the Italian Aerophilately Association continues, and this year, through the \u201cQuaderni di AIDA\u201d<\/em> (AIDA Notebooks), it reaches its third publication.
This work is a true gem, authored by our President, Fiorenzo Longhi, who generously decided to share an unpublished piece that recounts the \u201cItalian Military Aviation Mission in Argentina.\u201d

The project originated from a promise made to Rosetta Locatelli, sister of the pilot Antonio, back in 1975. Thanks to the material provided by the Locatelli family and his tireless research, Fiorenzo Longhi managed to meticulously reconstruct the chronicles of the Italian aviators\u2019 exploits during the Mission in Argentina in 1919, with particular focus on historical, postal, and philatelic aspects.

To further enrich the volume, a complete translation of the text into English is also provided.<\/p>
