2020 – EXPO2020 Cinisello

Despite the pandemic, from October 9-11, 2020, the Philatelic and Philatelic Literature Exhibition with international participation, EXPO2020 CINISELLO, was held in Cinisello Balsamo, in the splendid setting of Villa Casati Stampa, organized within the events of the Sagra del Balsamo.

Undoubtedly, the pandemic created quite a few difficulties for the Cinisello Philatelic Circle. However, the event, with its limited number of participants, in the three sectors of the literature class (Books, Catalogs, and Magazines), well represented the organizers’ intent, particularly the President of the Circle and the Jury, which was to promote collecting to new generations through philately and postal history. Several collections were also exhibited, among which stood out that of our member Giorgio Moretti, with his collection dedicated to the Tenth Anniversary Cruise, featuring many rare items and vintage photos. Among the various collections on display, Grazia Coccolini’s collection, titled “The World of Handicap – Disability Through World Philately,” was also highly appreciated.

Unlike the philatelic section, which was not competitive, the literature class, as mentioned, was the only competitive one and saw a fair number of participants, divided into the following sectors:

  • Sector A: Books, specialized catalogs, special studies, bibliographic works, auction catalogs, and philatelic research publications
  • Sector B: World, national, sectoral catalogs
  • Sector C: Magazines, association journals, yearbooks

Among the participants was also our Association, which entered several issues of the AIDAFlash magazine in the competition. Specifically, our participation referred to the 2018 and 2019 issues, which were awarded the Vermeil Medal diploma (see attached photo).
