Conference dedicated to the “Open Class”

In a particular year like this, which saw the philatelic activity almost disappear all over the world, thanks to the help of technology, alternative solutions for meeting via web were developed, in some respects even more functional than face-to-face meetings, which however, they remain the indispensable solution. However, the great effectiveness shown by online dating is very likely not to make us abandon such solutions altogether when everything is over.

In this context, “Philatelic Fridays”, organized by CIFT and CIFO, which we have already spoken about in the previous issue of AIDA News, have developed considerably, with a very busy schedule, already defined until June 2021.

On Friday December 18 2020 it was turn of Marco Occhipinti, who as National Delegate of the “Open Class”, with a view to disseminating as much as possible the methods and enormous potential of this collecting approach, presented a speech entitled « Space for imagination with an “open” collection ».

The conference saw the participation of 107 people from Italy and the world (Belgium, Chile, France, Slovenia, Spain, …), a very positive fact, which confirmed the interest of many in the subject. At the end of the presentation, an extensive debate followed, which, as reported by Marco, also continued outside the conference, via email and via social media.

In the first slides mention is made of invitation sent by the FIP to all the national Federations to communicate the name of a delegate for the new FIP Commission for the “Open Class”, as already highlighted above. Well, the FSFI has appointed Marco Occhipinti as International Delegate for “Open Class”. Our congratulations to Marco.
