Documents evoking air transport. XXIX Philatelic Exhibition “City of Como” October 28 – November, 1st 2010
Como Exhibition was created by the Esperia Club headed by our member Oliviero Emoroso. In Villa Olmo’s luxurious rooms representative office of Municipality, the members Andrea Amoroso, Raimondo Cattanei, Bruna Corsari, Eligio Di Mento, Alberto Freda, Costantino Gironi, Giovanni Merelli, Carlo Milanesi, Flavio Riccitelli and Massimo Trenta presented interesting collections that they gave a complete picture of the various sectors of aerophilately. Much interest also in the memorabilia sector, presented by Esperia Club.
On October 28th, two detached Post Offices were activated, in Torino and in Como (the latter at the headquarters of the Exhibition), with two cancellations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of founding of the Lariano Aero Club with which some souvenir postcards were canceled.
In memory of the 1925 flights, a postal transport by seaplane was carried out which landed in the seven locations that were a similar destination in 1925.
On Saturday 30 October, in the courtyard in front of Villa Olmo, a hot air balloon was raised to drink braked ascents, to the delight of many present, especially children.
