2016 – Flight Festival- Monza

Villa Mirabello – Monza Park of the Reggia April, 1-25 2016

Almost the entire month of April dedicated to the flight exhibition and a “three days” of subtle adrenaline between charm, emotion and show.

An initiative organized by Villa Reale and Parco di Monza Consortium and the Italian Aerostatic Club and conceived by Marco Majrani, photographer, professional, science journalist, and curator of the new aerostatic section at the Volandia Museum.
Elegant gas balloons and colorful hot air balloons competed for the occasion after 46 years in an exciting free flight contest. Among them also the Aeronord I-OECM balloon, the only Italian one, and some from other European countries.
For many families it was possible to experience the thrill of flying for free, thanks to the braked flights with some hot air balloons, including those of Milano Mongolfiere and the personalized RE / MAX one.
The exhibition, unique and intriguing, opened at Villa Mirabello from April, 1 to 25, to celebrate an unprecedented path dedicated to the “lighter than air”, with historical objects exhibited for the first time in Italy.
Therefore, the initiative was a wonderful journey that retraced the enchanting scenarios of the first explorations, from the exciting stories of Jules Verne to the first fabulous flight organized by the Montgolfier brothers, up to the present day.
Below you can browse the very rich brochure prepared for the occasion, which illustrated the event, with a brief description of the Villa Mirabello.
