On November 17 a dear friend, Fabio Vaccarezza, passed away. He was not a member of our association, but he was a well-known, loved and appreciated person in the world of the philatelic press, for his always extremely interesting and original articles. The pandemic has unfortunately prevented many, with whom he shared his passion for philately, from attending the funeral and to give him a last farewell.
I got to know him several years ago, on the occasion of one of the many “Postal History Colloquia” organized in Prato by the ISSP. Our collaboration then extended to the “Philatelic” Congresses, promoted by the Philately & Stamps Forum, of which he was one of the main organizers, together with Rosalba Pigini and many other enthusiasts, who mourn his passing.
In particular, for the excellent organization, I would like to mention the 6th Congress, held in Ancona in 2013 and the 7th Congress, held in Fermo in 2016, on the occasion of which, thanks to Fabio, it was also possible to talk about air mail. Our greeting goes to the widow Roberta Mondino.
