Even AIDA runs for peace

The Italian Philatelic Press Union (USFI), the Federation of Italian Philatelic Societies (FSFI) and the National Association of Philatelic Professionals (ANPF) have promoted the initiative called “Philately for Peace”, aimed at raising awareness among Italian philatelic world to affirm a “NO!” decided on war as an instrument to settle disputes between nations. An assumption to which our Association could not remain insensitive and which it makes its own.

For this purpose, a specific logo has been created, which at the invitation of the USFI, we will use in the various forms of communication, with the aim of underlining the commitment against all forms of war and solidarity towards the people and institutions philatelists of Ukraine.

As the author of logo, the president of the USFI, Beniamino Bordoni, explains, the image depicts an open envelope from which an ideal sheet of stamps comes out, the elements of which are the colors of the flags of Ukraine and Russia, as if it were a “joint” flag, to represent the union between the two peoples who are paying in spite of the direct and indirect consequences of the war. And then, the word “PEACE”, which hangs over the envelope, is made with the colors of Ukraine to highlight the solidarity towards this nation. Everything is placed on a green background as a sign of serenity and hope for a quick conclusion of the conflict. The image, to recall the idea of ??a postage stamp, is notched in black as a sign of mourning for civilian victims.
