2023 – Aerophilately in Rho schools

The Scuola Paritaria San Carlo with the patronage of the Municipality of Rho has organized a project of mail art or postal art on the occasion of the day for legality and the fight against mafia crime. The intent is to circulate positive thoughts of active citizenship and beauty through the public postal service, by donating small works of art on postcards. The common thread is the reflection on Peppino Impastato’s phrase “The mafia kills silence as well”.

The postcards that will arrive will be exhibited in the exhibition in the second event organized by the Department of Legality and the Temporary Anti-Mafia Commission of the Municipality of Rho which will be held from 24 May at the premises of Villa Burba Cornaggia Medici, Corso Europa 291, Rho.

Having talked about mail, through the presentation of this project, by Prof. Raffaella Giacomini, was an opportunity to present the students with an excursus on the history of the great aeronautical companies, with its postal corollaries and an introduction of what it was the importance of airmail in the history of communications. Our association, through its members Luigi Farina (adviser) and Flavio Riccitelli (secretary), lent itself very willingly to making all its experience available to the students, with the important collaboration of the teaching class, represented on this occasion by the Prof. Simonetta Bernasconi, who at the end of the presentation, wanted to draw the students’ attention to Gabriele D’Annunzio’s sentence in the last slide projected.

The attention and interest shown by the students, as also demonstrated by the roundup of images attached, prompted us and also the teaching class to repeat this useful experience, organizing it in an even more articulated way and rich in materials. Meanwhile, many copies of the magazine and material of various kinds were distributed to the participants on the occasion.

Below is a rundown of the most significant images.
